Movement skills, thinking skills, language, social interaction and emotional development all happens best when a child is actively involved in an activity – when they are having fun – when they are playing! On the other hand, children who have a short attention span, who flit from one toy to the next, who lack the skills to play imaginatively may not be able to develop some of the skills mentioned above adequately.
