PLAY AND DEVELOPMENT  WORKSHOP

A “Play and Development” workshop  will be held on Tuesday 18 November 2008 from 9.30am—12.00 at the Redland Community Centre.  This single session workshop, conducted by  Winnie Cheung, an Occupational Therapist from the Redland Health Service Centre, will cover child  development, play activities to enhance development and  bonding and suitable toys. 

This is for adults (i.e. no children) and is offered free of charge.

SPEECH AND LANGUAGE WORKSHOP

A “Communication Development 0—5 years” workshop  will be held on Tuesday 11 November 2008 from 9.30am—11.30am at the Redland Community Centre.  This single session workshop, conducted by Speech Pathologists for the Redland Health Service Centre, will cover how children learn to talk, normal development and causes of  communication difficulties. BABY HEALTH CLINIC

With the support of the Southside Health Service District - Bayside, Family Health and Rehab Service, a Child Health Clinic is held  at RCC Capalaba each Monday.  Contact the Redland Health Service Centre on 3488 4222 to make appointments.

Interested in researching your family tree and not sure where to start?  We’re interested in conducted an introductory course at the centre and are “testing the waters” to see if there’s enough interest.  Give us a call on 3245 2117 to register your interest.

MANAGING YOUR EMOTIONS - RETRAIN YOUR BRAIN

This is an 8-week mindfulness training course for people who have intense and/or frequent emotional difficulties, and for people who want to  learn a meditation technique that helps them to remain calmer and more balanced when faced with life's difficulties. We have a group of friendly, fun loving over forty females who meet under the name of WIG at 29 Loraine Street, Capalaba every first and third Monday of each month 9.30am - 12 noon.

The order of the day is lively conversation, pleasant company, and lots of laughs. Guest Speaker. Cost $3 for morning tea.

GENTLE EXERCISE GROUP OVER 50’S

Relationship Australia Gambling Help Service - Capalaba Relationships Australia

Is part of a network offering a government funded Gambling Help Service. The service is free and is available for clients, their families, friends or anyone in the community who may require counseling around problem gambling. A new multicultural that meets at the centre every Friday from 10:00 am - 12 noon. We hold weekly meetings as well as social events. We are located in CR1 which includes an outside area and tea/coffee making facilities.
