Our Background

Redland Community Centre Inc began in April 1990 as the Redland's Awareness Group Inc, under the sponsorship and funding from Redland Shire Council. It commenced operation as the Capalaba Neighbourhood Centre situated at 29 Loraine Street, Capalaba

Incorporation occurred in June 1992 and sponsorship changed from Redland Awareness Group to Capalaba Community Centre Inc.

In June 1996 Capalaba Community Centre was asked to "take over" Redland's Awareness Group (which was previously auspiced by Redland Shire Council) at Cleveland, thus the Cleveland Community Centre was established. After the takeover of Redland's Awareness Group, the organisation then became incorporated under the name of REDLAND COMMUNITY CENTRE INC.

Redland Community Centre is partly funded by the Queensland Department of Communities
